It is best to start with a good mattress and comfortable surroundings. This is very important component, the foundation of your sleep. The bed should be medium firm but have a soft pillowtop type area. This works the best for most people. It is of course more important that you sleep on what does work for you or any health issue you may have. Food or alcohol should not be consumed or at least minimized within 2 hours of going to bed.
